Dear Editor: On one hand the state Department of Fish and Game is trying to convince the federal court system that we are capable of managing king salmon in Alaska.

At the same time the department just slaughtered 94 brown bears on the Alaska Peninsula using helicopters in some sort of over-the-top predator control program.

We need better leadership at ADF&G.
