Police Blotter
Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:
June 23
A bear was reported to have gotten into garbage cans at 300 Tilson St.
A disturbance was reported at 9:54 a.m. in the 400 block of Lake Street.
A traffic accident with damage was reported at 11:14 a.m. in the 1800 block of HPR.
A civil standby was requested in the 1200 block of HPR.
A traffic stop was made at 11:07 p.m. in the 1100 block of HPR.
June 24
An animal problem was reported at 12:20 a.m. on Anna Drive.
Fireworks were reported at 12:35 a.m. in the 1700 block of HPR.
Suspicious activity was reported at 3:37 a.m. on Andrew Hope Street.
Sitka Police
George R. House, 32, was charged with robbery in the first degree, assault in the fourth degree and theft in the third degree Tuesday morning.
Brendan J. Jacobs, 24, was charged with driving under the influence early this morning.
Sarah R. Smith, 43, was charged early this morning with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a breath test, and violating conditions of release.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 11:24 a.m., 4:54 p.m. and 7:27 p.m. Tuesday.
