Grateful
Dear Editor: As we all know, running programs “takes a village.”
Southeast Alaska Independent Living’s incredible staff, partners, and connections come together to create amazing opportunities for Sitkans.
SAIL is so grateful to all of the partners we have, and particularly in the moment, we deeply appreciate Allen Marine for their generous donation of two cruises.
One cruise went to help fundraise for our Outdoor Recreation and Community Access program to help make recreation more accessible for all. The other has gone to SAIL’s summer work program which helps teach youth about entering the workforce and finding jobs that benefit them financially and help them grow as community members.
Captain Kim, McKenzie, Tori, Julian and Noah were our awesome crew who taught our students a lot about working in maritime and naturalist roles.
SAIL would like to thank Allen Marine once more for being a wonderful community partner and offering their support as we work together to make Sitka an accessible place for all. This event was sponsored by Allen Marine Tours, ‘‘Supporting Southeast Alaska Through Tourism!’’
