Revitalize Sitka Thanks
Dear Editor: The Revitalize Sitka: Creating a Vibrant Community Group (formerly Downtown Revitalizaiton) would like to publicly thank the following for all their help with our projects.
Trevor Harang/Alaska Marine Lines volunteered to provide shipping for both the hanging baskets and brackets and the lighted snowflakes which will go up this winter. This was a huge savings to our group.
Dave and Lauren Allen/Allen Marine for volunteering their staff to not only put up the Christmas tree in front of St. Michael’s Church for the past two years but in actually hanging our flower baskets with their new brackets on Lincoln Street. Special thanks to Allen Marine employees Mike Matz, Ryan Allen and Donny Garrity for putting the brackets on the lamp posts and hanging the baskets. Thank you to Allen Marine for allowing their employees to help us on company time.
These businesses embody the true community spirit. They stepped up because they care about Sitka.
Thank you to Doug Osborne for writing the original proposal to the City of Sitka requesting funds for projects.
Thank you to the City and Borough of Sitka for kick-starting all the projects with a generous donation to Revitalize Sitka.
Many thanks to the city electric department for hanging the banners on the lamp posts.
We hope you enjoy our beautification efforts. Revitalize Sitka meets every month. Meetings are publicized. All are welcome to join us. More projects are forthcoming. Remember to shop local, eat local and enjoy local.
