Police received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today:

June 26

Suspicious activity was reported in the 1700 block of HPR at 8:14 a.m.

A bear was reported on Galankin Island at 11:45 a.m.

At 11:47 a.m. a caller reported suspicious activity at the golf course.

At 1:34 p.m. criminal mischief was reported at Crescent Harbor.

A theft was reported on Andrews Street.

June 27

Trespassing was reported at apartments on Lance Drive at 2:52 a.m.

An assault was reported at apartments on Lance Drive at 2:54 a.m.

A civil dispute was reported on Georgeson Loop.

At 2:45 p.m. an assault was reported in the 2000 block of SMC.

A theft was reported at an apartment in the 4800 block of HPR.

At 9:28 p.m. a liquor law violation was reported at HP Rec.

June 28

At 9:52 a.m. a caller reported a bear in the 2100 block of HPR.

At 3:13 p.m. a caller reported suspicious activity in the 3300 block of HPR.

At 6:07 p.m. a bear was reported in the 2200 block of SMC.

At 10:13 p.m. fireworks were reported being set off in the 2400 block of SMC.

At 10:36 p.m. a bear was reported on Georgeson Loop.

June 29

A liquor law violation was reported on Rands Drive at 1:09 a.m.

Suspicious activity was reported in the 400 block of Lake Street at 2:19 a.m.

 

Sitka Police

Izaak Needham, 51, was charged with driving under the influence Friday.

David Skultka, 37, was charged Friday with violating a restraining order by Alaska Wildlife Troopers.

Shayne A. Sutherland, 29, was charged Saturday with criminal trespass.

Ellie Barker, 18, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence.

Hannah Mosher, 16, was charged with driving under the influence and cited for minor consuming.

 

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Saturday and three on Sunday.

 

One fire call came in Friday, two Saturday and one today, all of them false alarms. Steamy showers set off alarms in two of the calls, and burnt food in the others. No structural fires were logged.
