Police Blotter
Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
May 31
A caller reported possible cruelty to dogs. The ACO talked to the dogs’ owner and found no sign of neglect.
The ACO wrangled some ducks back to Swan Lake from the roadway. He also noted that he picked up and disposed of drug paraphernalia.
At 11:12 a.m. a caller said a mother duck and ducklings were in the road on Oja Street. The ACO and an assistant safely returned them to Swan Lake.
At 11:25 a.m. a 911 caller said a female was lying on a front porch. An officer found a boy who had locked himself out. His father was contacted.
A caller said a man was yelling and screaming in an upstairs apartment, then there had been a thud and a female crying. Officers talked to the two, who said they had been arguing and things were thrown but nothing broken. Both said they felt safe.
At 5:42 p.m. a caller said a fight had been reported at a residence in the 2000 block of HPR. Officers talked to three intoxicated men but found no evidence of a crime.
At 6:48 p.m. a caller said an intoxicated woman wearing a surgical mask was trying to reach a bunkhouse but fell down. An officer helped her to her room. A friend agreed to care for her.
At 9:10 p.m. a driver reported hitting but not killing a deer in the 4800 block of HPR. Officers dispatched the deer and took it to the Raptor Center.
People were seen in a car with the engine running playing loud music and drinking. An officer told them not to drive.
June 1
At 3 a.m. a caller said a couple was fighting outside her window on Price Street. Officers found a woman was very intoxicated. A family member picked her up.
At 3:34 a.m. a 911 caller said a drunk woman was on his porch yelling and cursing. She was placed in protective custody.
At 2 p.m. a 911 caller said a person had an injured knee. EMS was called.
An intoxicated man found lying face down on the sidewalk at 212 Katlian had a PBT of .354 and was taken to a hospital.
At 10:36 p.m. a caller said homeless men were harassing her kids on the Moller ball field. A taxi was called for one man, and the other was told he couldn’t sleep in the dugout. Officers returned later when he refused to leave the dugout. After he blew a PBT of .316 he was taken to a hospital.
June 2
At 2:35 a.m. a caller said a man was trying to break into a hotel. Officers found the man was intoxicated and had been trying to pry the hotel doors open because his key card didn’t work. Charges may be filed later after the hotel inspects the key card reader.
A caller said her mother had locked her out of the house.
A caller reported losing a set of crutches at Herring Cove.
Sitka Police
Rubi G. Nicodemus, 46, was charged Friday on two counts of violating conditions of release, and cited for driving with a revoked license.
Rodney Brevick Jr., 32, was charged Saturday with misconduct involving a weapon in the fourth degree after a man was reported resisting leaving the shooting range.
