Sitka Police Department received the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

June 29

At 12:33 a.m. a resident on Andrew P. Hope Street reported finding a window opened. Officers checked the area.

At 4:02 a.m. men who were apparently intoxicated were reported making noise in the 200 block of Katlian. Officers found the men had been climbing a tree to recover a soccer ball. Officers issued a noise warning.

An incident of drunkenness was logged in the 200 block of Lincoln Street.

At 9:45 a.m. a bear was reported in the 1900 block of Anna Circle.

Parking problems were reported at Jones Trailer Court, ANB Harbor parking lot and Castle Hill parking lot.

At 2:04 p.m. a disturbance was reported at Austin and Pherson streets. Officers found a scooter rider was racing up and down the trail.

At 4:57 p.m. a paddleboard was reported floating in the water at SMC and Shotgun Alley.

At 5:53 p.m. a bicycle rider reported a dog had run into the road on Charles Street and bit him in the leg. He wanted the incident documented.

A hit and run was reported on Lillian Drive at 8:21 p.m.

At 8:24 p.m. a caller said a drone had been flying over the playground in the 800 block of Lincoln Street for about an hour. Officers found the drone was flying over the SJ area by people making a documentary.

A noise complaint was filed in the 100 block of Shotgun Alley at 9:21 p.m.

June 30

At 1:03 a.m. citizen contact was made at the skate park.

 

Sitka Police

Chazaq L.P. Rodriguez, 36, was charged today with driving under the influence, refusal to submit a breath test, and driving with a revoked license.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Tuesday and one early this morning.

 

In Court

Christina R. Quintana, 35, was found guilty of assault in the first degree (serious injury, weapon), a class A felony, and was sentenced Monday to 20 years with no time suspended. The charge stems from a case on March 18, 2018.

Dismissed without prejudice were two charges of robbery in the first degree, assault in the first degree, burglary in the first degree, two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree, and misconduct involving a weapon in the third degree.
