Police Blotter
Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
June 4
At 10:16 a.m. a man without a shirt on was reported at a downtown hotel talking to himself and air-boxing. Officers talked to the man, who was on some substance, and advised him of the complaint. He left the area.
A caller said a man she had evicted from his rental swore at her in a store. Police talked to the man who said it was actually the woman who verbally attacked him. Both were advised to stay away from each other.
At 5:50 p.m. a 911 caller who was crying asked for the number to the SAFV shelter. An officer responded and she was taken to the hospital. She and a man had been drinking all day, officers said, and had argued about the man’s refusal to buy her more alcohol.
An ambulance was called for a man who fell over in a bar.
At 8:33 p.m. a caller said he’d seen a man on his phone camera trying to get into the caller’s house. Officers found no one at the house but noted the dogs were aggressive and the owner said they probably scared the intruder away.  An officer later spoke to the man, who said he’d spoken to the homeowner and the matter was resolved.
A man said his ex stole his bank information and put a bunch of charges on his cards, resulting in the cards’ currently being declined. He said he planned to file fraud charges with the bank, and wanted to know if anything else could be done.
At 10:09 p.m. a 911 caller said a very drunk woman was in front of her Cascade Creek Road house, wanting to get in. The woman was led away by friends and was in their care, officers were told.
At 10:20 p.m. a taxi driver said an intoxicated woman was trying to get out of the moving cab. She went into a hotel with a sober companion shortly later, police were advised.
At 10:45 p.m. a hotel sought a criminal trespass warning against an intoxicated woman who pulled a fire alarm.
At 10:56 p.m. a 911 caller said  the intoxicated woman rang his doorbell multiple times, and was now in the middle of Monastery Street. She was taken into protective custody.
At 11:44 p.m. a man was reported yelling in a parking lot in the 1200 block of SMC. Police found his mouth was bleeding and he appeared to have been assaulted. He was uncooperative with providing information but said his friend’s girlfriend had punched him. He didn’t give names and didn’t want to pursue charges. He was left in the care of a friend.

At 12:06 a.m. officers heard a woman crying in the area of the suspected assault. No one would answer the door of the unit where the crying was heard. The owner was contacted and opened the door. Police determined the people inside were likely the ones involved in the assault from an earlier call but there was no blood or other evidence that anyone there had committed the assault, officers said. Nobody was injured and the woman who had been crying was found to be safe.
At 1:55 a.m. a man was reported passed out between Katlian Street buildings. He was taken to a hospital.
At 5:04 a.m. a person walking by Pioneer Park reported hearing a man yelling that he wanted to “kill the world” and sounded like he was punching something out of view of the road.  He was gone when police checked.
