Local basketball teams on both sides of the bridge fell to the might of the Ketchikan High Kings, Wednesday night at Sitka and Mt. Edgecumbe High Schools.
The Sitka Wolves fell to Ketchikan 66-51. A second quarter rally by Sitka brought them within 1 point of Ketchikan’s lead, but the Kings pushed back and extended their lead in the third and fourth quarters.
On Japonski Island, the Lady Braves lost to the Lady Kings 38-18. Ketchikan was a dominant force throughout the match, scoring more points in the first quarter than the Lady Braves did in the first half.
Local basketball squads face off against Ketchikan again throughout the week.
