Lady Wolves Take Second Place in State

The Sitka High Lady Wolves fought to the end but fell to the Barrow Whalers in the championship game at the state basketball tournament, Saturday in Anchorage. Barrow won the final match 51-46 to seal the state title while Sitka High secured second place.

On the boys side, the Mt. Edgecumbe High Braves took fourth place after beating Barrow in a consolation game 63-60 on Friday. The Nome-Beltz Nanooks clinched the state championship.
