Dear Editor: This is our last garage sale. Sitka Lutheran Church has done fundraisers for youths and adults of Sitka Lutheran Church doing Mission Work for more than 20 years. Members of the Sitka Community and Sitka Lutheran Church have generously donated TREASURES AND GIFTS for our garage sales at 3704 Halibut Point Road. Over 20 years we have conducted 80 garage sales and have raised approximately $42,000.
Members of Sitka Lutheran (including teens) and students of Mt. Edgecumbe High School and Sitka High School have done projects in many places.
Sitka Lutheran Church has sent teams who shared the gospel and their hearts and hands offering energy and grace to people in need. A food bank in Palmer, flood relief in Montana and North Dakota, hurricane repair in the Virgin Islands and New Orleans, support in Tanzania, church repairs in Whitehorse and Brevig Mission, medical care in Jamaica, food bank collections for the Salvation Army, orphanage assistance in Indonesia and much more.
Special thanks to all who helped with their energy, their prayers and their generous donations. Our last garage sale will be held 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3704 Halibut Point Road.
Come and join us. We have lots of GOOD STUFF. The donations will support a team going to Jamaica in 2026.
Sitka Lutheran Church will continue to help those who are hungry, homeless and in need of health care. Popcorn sales to tourists will be one form of support.
