Leadership

Posted

Dear Editor: Does our president have no decency? I write not to debate policy, but to protest conduct that falls far below what we should expect from the office.

Leadership is not:

• Posing as Jesus.

• Mocking Islam.

• Making inappropriate comments about the Pope.

• Denigrating our closest allies.

• Failing to take responsibility for the deaths of more than a hundred Iranian schoolchildren.

• Threatening to bomb one of the world’s oldest civilizations back to the Stone Age.

These are not the actions of a strong and moral leader. They are the behaviors of a schoolyard bully, played out on a global stage, with serious and lasting consequences.
