Roy Uber
Born and raised in Sitka, Roy Uber died November 5 after a brief, valiant battle with melanoma, a skin cancer. He was 42.
Roy was an extraordinary young man. He excelled in many endeavors, whether hunting, fishing, foraging, excavating or establishing a business.
Roy leaves behind his loving companion, Jordan Vaughn; his son Bence Uber; two fathers, Tom “the Ace” Uber and Patrick Welsh; his mother Florence Welsh; his brother Kirby Uber; sisters Cory Eubanks, Rachel Ulrich and Karin Johnson – and many, truly treasured friends.
Roy chose to be buried in the city cemetery next to his brother and childhood buddy, Marty Welsh.
Roy’s friends and loved ones are invited to a celebration of life potluck from 3 to 9 p.m. this Saturday, November 20, at the Halibut Point Recreation Area main shelter.
