The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.

February 28

At 12:30 a.m. a caller said a minor had left home and taken alcohol with him. Officers contacted the minor, took him home, and cited him for drinking.

At 8:35 a.m. a two-car traffic accident was reported at HPR and Kashevaroff Street. No one was injured, but one of the vehicles was towed, and glass and other debris had to be swept up. Police opened a case on the incident.

At 9:45 p.m. a truck was reported to have broken down and was blocking traffic in the 600 block of SMC. It had been moved when police arrived.

At 10 p.m. a store in the 1800 block of HPR said a man who had been trespassed had returned and was trying to steal items. He left before police arrived, and a case has been opened.

 

Sitka Police

Amivael Andino, 28, was charged Tuesday with assault in the fourth degree (domestic violence) and criminal mischief in the fifth degree.

 

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received four ambulance calls and one false alarm fire call  Tuesday.

 

Marriages

Alec B. Cunningham and Rosalind J. Palof applied for a marriage license in February.

 

Divorces

Eric William Majeski and Joanna Lynn (Beedle) Majeski were granted a divorce in February.
