Standardized Testing

Dear Editor: Common Core Standardized Testing begins next week and I would encourage all to opt out of testing. As many of you know last year HB 156 made recognizing a parent’s authority to opt out of testing explicit in state law. These are invalid tests to measure compliance to a non-valid national standard that eliminates parental and local control and self-governance of education. To my knowledge the school district has failed to comply with HB 156 explicit directions to school boards to work with parents to implement policies and procedures to opt out. Make certain you know the entire testing schedule and inform the school you are opting out of Common Core Standardized Testing.

The following link is to a very comprehensive article by a renowned national education expert and researcher. I would encourage everyone to read this especially if you have children in public school. http://freedomoutpost.com/the-education-boomerang-theory/

Please call me if you have any questions or need help opting out, 752-4059.

Gilnettings

Dear Editor: The Time Line for the Gilnettings story that appeared in the Sentinel Wednesday, March 21, was inadvertently deleted prior to forwarding the story to the Sentinel. Dates covered in the story were 1952, 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956 and 1957. The Sentinel did not make the mistake. The mistake was mine.
