Food Bank Benefit
Dear Editor: I would like to thank everyone who attended the Salvation Army Food Bank fundraiser and food drive Sunday, March 19, at the Sitka Elks Lodge. The number of people who came to support this cause was overwhelming! We served over 100 dinners and raised over $4,000 for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
I would like give a special shout out and a huge thank you to AC Lakeside, the Hames Corporation and US Foods the for their generous donations of food and supplies. This allowed us to give all of the proceeds from the dinner and auction to the Salvation Army. As usual, this community has come together to help support others in need.
Finally, none of this would have been possible without the support and help of my fellow Elks Lodge Board members, volunteers, lodge members and employees for showing up and helping this event be the success it was. We could not have done it without you. THANK YOU!
