Appointment
Dear Editor: Deer City and Borough Assembly Members: Are you-all caught in the headlights?! Get a move on.
If Chief Dave Miller wishes to administer then appoint ’em posthaste ... and count yer lucky stars and strips.
I remain most sincere.

Health Care
Dear Editor: On the ‘‘GOP Health Care Reform Fizzle’’:
First the Judicial branch gets uppity on immigration; then the Legislative branch drops the ball big time on health care. It would appear that the Executive branch appears to be getting a lesson in the concept of “checks and balances” through the system and processes of the “separation of powers” imperatives of the Constitution; something that doesn’t exist in the realms of real estate, hotel and casino empires, and universities.
And please don’t cart out the tired, worn “will of the people” argument: that the American people, in electing Trump, voted for ACA repeal or travel bans. More people voted against Trump than voted for him. Only slightly more than voted against Clinton, but more, nonetheless.
The beauty of this is that it demonstrates that the Republican party is in as big a state of shambles as are the Democrats. Neither has a mandate from anybody to do anything; at least so far as the “will of the people” is concerned. Those who want to repeal Obamacare don’t have a mandate; those who want to preserve and even expand it don’t have one either.
There is similarly no mandate from anybody about any of the other hot-button issues confronting this nation: immigration and The Wall; the economy, regulations, and taxes; the GWOT and the looming Cold War II; climate change and its denial; and, other, obviously lesser concerns like the perpetual federal budget deficit and the thus ever-growing national debt.
It remains to be seen how the White House will ultimately react and respond to these recent defiances of its will, and to others that surely lurk down the road. It then remains further to be seen how the Legislative and Judicial branches of this government will react to the Oval Office.
But what really remains to be seen is how the people of this nation react and respond to what happens up there in swampland next, as all this unfolds on “Morning In TrumpLandia,” reality-tv for a “post-truth” America and planet.
In any case, gridlock in D.C. can’t be a totally bad thing, can it? Or can it?
