Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
March 25
At 3:06 a.m. an Indian River Road resident reported being awakened by the wind and what sounded like a bear growling. No sign of a bear was found.
Police investigated a report of a man being suicidal and found he was OK.
At 6:08 p.m. a parent called about a juvenile still not home from school. At 8 p.m. the juvenile was reported home.
An iPhone found near the Russian cemetery was turned in to police.
At 6:57 p.m. TSA called police about a loaded weapon.
At 8:31 p.m. a dog owner reported the pet had gotten loose in the 1800 block of HPR.
March 26
At 8 a.m. a caller reported a man riding a small bike at Lincoln and Monastery. Officers determined the bike was not stolen.
At 12:36 p.m. a person camping near the Gavan Hill trail head reported trespassing.
March 27
At 2:48 a.m. a caller reported yelling and loud noise coming from an apartment in the 800 block of HPR. One of the persons involved agreed to go to a friend’s house.
At 10:36 a.m. an officer reported two dogs running at large in the 600 block of Monastery. They were returned to their owner.
At 3:04 p.m. a yellow Lab was reported running at large on Eliason Loop.
At 7 p.m. a beagle was reported running at large near the post office. It eventually got itself home, on Lance Drive.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls, and a fire alarm – at 9:40 p.m. at 1207 Seward Avenue. On Saturday five ambulance calls came in, and on Sunday two more came in.
Sitka Police
Ryan Refshaw, 46, was charged Friday with driving under the influence.
Donnie Ryan, 50, was charged Saturday with driving under the influence.
Stephanie Moreno, 45, was arrested Saturday on a charge of violating conditions of release on a felony assault charge.
