Police Blotter
The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.
March 27
At 12:20 a.m. a person was accused of selling marijuana out of a car. Police are investigating.
At 2 a.m. a customer at a bar got upset because he wasn’t allowed to buy more alcohol, and hit a window and a jukebox. The bar declined to press charges.
At 10:28 a.m. a dog was reported running at large near the post office. Police were unable to locate it.
At 12:36 p.m. a couple handed over to police a small black dog they’d found at the Gavan Hill trailhead. Police took it to the animal shelter, and the owner claimed it after the finders posted a photo on Sitka Chatters.
Two people arguing via text messages were advised of options.
A resident on O’Cain Street reported the possible theft of fuel from a tank.
At 5:46 p.m. people were reported shooting guns from a beach at Herring Cove. Police advised them it was illegal to shoot there, and to go to the shooting range.
At 6:53 p.m. a caller reported hearing banging and screaming from the women’s restroom at Crescent Harbor. Police found two juvenile girls were there and had caused damage to a toilet paper dispenser.
At 7:29 p.m. a caller reported a possibly intoxicated driver. Police found it was someone learning how to drive.
