Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

March 29

At 4:15 a.m. a car was reported following a pedestrian with the driver and the pedestrian yelling at each other, in the 700 block of HPR. Officers found nothing criminal had occurred.

At 9:15 p.m. a driver was reported to have left a service station without paying. Officers tracked down the driver, who was to return and pay for the gas.

At 9:06 p.m. residents complained of ATV riders going up and down Granite Creek Road, and at 9:12 p.m. residents complained of ATV riders going up and down Harbor Mountain Road. They were gone when officers arrived.

A man told police he had lost his wallet, and gave contact information if the wallet was turned in.

A case was opened on a report of a sex offense.

An assault was reported in the 200 block of Katlian Street. Charges may be forwarded.

March 30

At 2:42 a.m. a caller on Indian River Road reported the possible sighting of a bear. Officers found no sign of a bear.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls Tuesday.

Norman Paul, 46, was charged Tuesday with violating conditions of release stemming from an Oct. 30, 2019, charge of felony assault in the third degree.
