Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.
March 5
At 2:49 a.m. apartments on Burkhart Street reported electrical problems. The city was notified.
A welfare check was requested at 4:48 a.m. in the 400 block of Lake Street.
A family fight was reported but no charges were filed.
At 9:42 a.m. suspicious activity was reported in the 411 Monastery Street.
At 10:03 a.m. suspicious activity was reported at Petro Express.
At 1:41 a.m. a welfare check was requested in the 400 block of Marine Street.
A domestic problem was reported in the 1900 block of HPR at 9:52 p.m.
March 6
Criminal mischief was reported at Sealing Cove at 5:22 p.m.
A traffic accident with damage was reported at Blatchley at 12:30 p.m.
March 7
At 4:39 p.m. a disturbance was reported on Peterson Avenue.
At 3:34 p.m. drunkenness was reported in the 1200 block of SMC.
At 9:15 p.m. suspicious activity was reported on Price Street.
March 8
At 6:12 a.m. a fatal traffic accident was reported in the 2600 block of HPR. (See story on Page 1.)
Sitka Police
Robin J. Hartshorn, 62, was charged Saturday with criminal mischief in the third degree, disorderly conduct and trespassing in the third degree.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received one ambulance call Friday, five on Saturday, two on Sunday, and three this morning.
At 11:07 a.m. two engines were sent to the airport where a hot plate caught fire. The fire was out when firefighters arrived, and all that needed done was clearing the area of smoke, an SFD spokesman said. Damage was minimal. An electrical problem may have caused the fire, the spokesman said.
