The Sitka Little League has all the drama and talent of the big leagues and it all came to fruition during Tuesday’s clash between Martin Enterprise and Halibut Point Marine on Vilandre Field.
A pitcher duel between Martin Enterprise hurlers Chance Coleman and Trey Johnson and Halibut Point Marine’s mound demons Caleb and Bryce Calhoun came down to a 3-3 score heading into the bottom of the sixth inning.
Johnson helped his own cause by lining a lead off pitch to the left field fence.
The ball eluded the fielders long enough for Johnson to race around the bags and slide safely into home for the walk-off, in-the-park, home run and a 4-3 win.
