Grant Writer Needed
Dear Editor: I understand the importance of education. Educated people are the center of a democracy.
That does not mean that the new Sitka Police Department building cannot be funded by the numerous grants that are available that the education system has no access to obtain.
It is essential that the citizens of Sitka understand that we need a grant writer for Sitka to obtain grants for educational purposes also, but grants are for different purposes. If you would like to see all the grants that are available for a new SPD building, please contact me.
Let us not lose out on all available grants for all purposes, let us fund a grant writer. Let us get educational grants in Sitka and grants for a new SPD building.
They are of equal importance.

Stuttering Resource
Dear Editor: I’d like to ask your readers: Do you stutter? Do you know someone who does? Most people do. More than three million Americans and 70 million people across the globe stutter, but sadly it is still quite misunderstood. Help us change that.
May 13th-19th is National Stuttering Awareness Week. To support the stuttering community, the nonprofit Stuttering Foundation launched a new website with easy-to-find information like articles, brochures, magazines, videos, research reports and counselor referrals, with a new laptop- and mobile-friendly interface.
The Stuttering Foundation has accurate, trusted information about stuttering and free help on its new website-- StutteringHelp.org.
Please take a look and tell a friend.
