Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
April 29
At 9:24 a.m. a hospital reported a patient had been bitten by a black dog the previous night in the 200 block of Katlian Street.
At 11:17 a.m. a caller said two white poodles were running on and off the roadway at Darrin Drive and HPR, and one had been hit by a vehicle that had slowed way down. The ACO was unable to corral the dogs.
At 3:24 p.m. a caller said a vehicle had dropped garbage in the 900 block of SMC and traffic control might be needed.
At 8:24 p.m. a caller said a driver was parked at the Jarvis Street mini-storage in front of a unit that wasn’t his.
At 10:17 p.m. a caller said a truck overfilled with passengers was in the 900 block of HPR. An officer found the vehicle and issued a verbal warning for too many passengers and tinted windows.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 5:23 p.m., 3:54 p.m., 8;13 p.m. and 11:08 p.m. Tuesday.
