Police Blotter
Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
May 9
A downtown bar reported luggage had been left there for a couple of days. Police attempted to locate the owner, who is out of town.
A person reported having a video of an assault. Police contacted a woman and found kids had been in a fight.
A landlord reported a problem with a tenant. Officers spoke to the tenant, who was fine.
A tour operator was found to be operating without a license, and was trespassed from Centennial Hall.
At 10:47 a.m. a chicken was reported to have run away from its home on Wachusetts Street, headed for the high school and disappeared into the woods. The animal control officer was unable to catch it.
A resident on Dodge Circle said he had returned home to find someone had cut down trees on his property. Police opened an investigation.
A credit card was turned in, and placed in the police property drawer.
Drug-related items taken from a student were disposed of.
A debit card found in the 1700 block of HPR was placed in the police property drawer.

At 2:37 a.m. a woman was given a ride to a shelter.

Sitka Fire Department received four ambulance calls Monday.
