May 12
A caller reported a bartender at a downtown bar was intoxicated. Police determined he was not.
A skipper asked for a welfare check on a crew member threatening to harm himself.
An intoxicated man was seen talking to himself in the 100 block of Lincoln Street. Police found he was able to care for himself, and he left the area.
A disturbance on Spruce Street was found to be mutual combat, and no one wanted to press charges. Police issued a disorderly conduct warning.
A possible credit card fraud was reported at a downtown bar.
May 13
A vehicle was reported to have bumped a pedestrian near the SJ campus. Those involved were given self-report forms.
At 4 p.m. a dog was reported left in a vehicle with the windows closed in the 1200 block of SMC. The dog’s owner was contacted, and the dog was removed.
At 11:08 p.m. fireworks were reported heard in the 3200 block of HPR. All was quiet when police arrived.
May 14
At 1:37 a.m. a minor was reported screaming on Burkhart Drive.Police cited her for minor consuming.
At 2 a.m. a man who had apparently consumed too much alcohol was reported at a downtown bar. He was given care.
At 6:13 a.m. a man apparently on meth was reported throwing items at the restrooms at Eliason Harbor. He told police he would stop.
At 8:40 p.m. a man reported lying down on Kaagwaantaan Street told police he was listening to the road. Officers determined he was able to care for himself, and he left on foot.
At 8:40 p.m. three people were reported on the golf course after hours. They were gone when police arrived.
At 9:13 a.m. a woman asked for a welfare check on her adult son, whom she hadn’t heard from in a while. Police contacted him and told him to contact his mom.
May 15
At 1 a.m. callers complained of barking dogs on Johnson Street. Police contacted the owner.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls Friday, and one fire call on Hollywood Way that turned out to be burned food.
On Saturday, six ambulance calls came in, and one fire call, to a restaurant where a deep-fat fryer was out before the engine arrived.
Grand Jury
Emilio Partido, 18, was indicted Thursday on two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, a class U felony. The alleged offense occurred on Feb. 25 in Sitka.
Sitka Police
Jacob Carroll, 38, was charged Saturday with three counts of assault in the fourth degree.
