The following calls were logged as of 8 a.m. today.
May 15
At 1 a.m. callers complained of barking dogs on Johnson Street. Police contacted the owner.
At 9:12 a.m. a barnacle was placed on a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Lincoln Street.
A protective order was to be served.
At 3:39 p.m. a fender bender occurred in the Lakeside parking lot. One driver was cited for failure to have insurance, and both drivers were given self-report forms.
At 5:31 p.m. a dog found running at large in the 2000 block of HPR was taken by an officer to the animal shelter, where a couple was turning in a dog they had found. That dog’s owner was called.
A dead land otter was reported in the roadway in the 2800 block of HPR, but it was gone when police arrived.
At 10:20 p.m. an intoxicated man who had a nail in his hand was reported to have left the hospital. Police were unable to locate him.
A 10:55 p.m. a caller complained of noise at Sandy Beach. Police talked to people having a party there and advised them to be quieter and to pick up the trash. They complied.
May 16
At 3:43 a.m. a woman who had been yelling in the Georgeson Loop area was given a verbal warning about disorderly conduct.

Sitka Fire Department received two ambulance calls Monday.
In Court
Courtney M. Young, 33, of Eagle River, was found guilty Friday of a Sept. 19, 2022, charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree, a class A felony. She was sentenced to 48 months with 36 months suspended and placed on probation for four years. Items seized in the arrest are to be forfeited. A charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree was dismissed.
The sentencing of Jenifer Erin Clark, 44, on a Jan. 26, 2022, charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second degree, a class B felony, was suspended for a period of probation of 60 months. A special condition of probation is one year of imprisonment. Counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree, misconduct involving controlled substances in the second degree, and violating conditions of release were dismissed.
