Police Blotter
The following calls were logged as of 8 a.m. today.
May 17
At 4:04 a.m. a mattress was found in the road in the 800 block of HPR. Police removed it.
At 7:43 a.m. police contacted a man in a vehicle parked at Sandy Beach and told him he needed to pick up the items and trash around the vehicle. He did so.
At 8:06 a.m. police woke up a man sleeping in the restroom under the O’Connell Bridge, and told him he needed to leave. He did so.
At 10:42 a.m. police woke up a man sleeping on Eagle Beach and warned him the tide was coming in.
At 6:08 p.m. a White Elephant worker said an intoxicated man had been by the outside bookshelves for some time. Police found he was able to care for himself, and he left. However, he returned at 8:41 p.m., and was trespassed.
Security checks were made at downtown bars at 11:30 p.m.
May 18
At 2 a.m. a caller reported someone yelling in the 1200 block of SMC. Police found no one yelling in the area.

Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls Wednesday.

David Skultka, 40, was arrested on a warrant stemming from March 23, 2022, charges of driving under the influence and assault in the third degree, and violating conditions of release.
