Annual Quilt Show
Dear Editor: The Ocean Wave Quilters 32nd Annual Quilt Show, “Celebrating the Women in Our Lives,” is but a memory. Grandmothers, mothers, sisters, aunts, friends, and neighbors ... and even boats (remember, they are usually named after women) ... were honored in quilts of all colors and designs. All of the beautiful quilts have now been returned to brighten beds and walls and tables, and to warm hearts and bodies.
This annual event could not have happened without the help of the many people who loaned us their quilts for the two week display, collected the quilts, set up the wooden frames and hung the quilts at Harrigan Hall, “sat” the show and greeted visitors from near and far, set up and served a beautiful Mother’s Day tea, took down the show, and made sure all of the quilts were safely returned to their owners.
I humbly and sincerely say THANK YOU to all of you for helping to make this year’s quilt show a success. Many thanks, as well, to the Harrigan Hall staff for the secure room and to all of the shops around town for letting us hang posters in your windows. Pictures of all of the quilts will be available soon on the Ocean Wave Quilters facebook page.
