Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today.

May 18

At 12:58 a.m. a bear was seen on Rudolph Walton Circle.

An assault at a downtown location was reported at 7:28 a.m.

At 9:57 a.m. an agency assist was logged at the Totem Park visitor center.

At 11:29 a.m. a caller reported seeing what appeared to be a dog being abused, on a street off SMC.

At 11:53 a.m. a traffic accident was reported at Keet Gooshi Heen when two vehicles collided while leaving the parking lot. An officer estimated damage at about $3,000 to each vehicle.

At  3:02 p.m. a traffic hazard was reported in the 4500 block of HPR, where a boat parked on the side of the road was obstructing the view. The boat was gone when officers arrived.

At 3:58 p.m. a traffic accident was reported at Lake Street and Harbor Drive when a driver ran a red light and collided with another vehicle. An officer estimated damage to the vehicles at about $5,000 each.

At 4:26 p.m. citizen contact was made at Crescent Harbor.

At 11:09 p.m. a bear was reported near Indian River Road.

May 19

A welfare check was requested in the 1500 block of SMC at 1:26 a.m.

At 6:07 a.m. a bear was seen on Andrew P. Hope Street.

 

Emergency  Calls

Sitka Fire Department received one ambulance call Tuesday.
