Police Blotter
Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
May 20
A sleeping bag was found on Barracks Street. It was disposed of.
At 10:39 a.m. a 911 caller, followed by two other callers, said they’d been told to call police. One reported a woman in pain was on the floor at the post office. EMS took her to a hospital.
At 1:35 p.m. a caller complained of a barking dog on Lance Drive. The ACO was advised.
At 4 p.m. a caller asked about obtaining a stalking order. Officers spoke to two parties and told them to stay away from one another. The caller was told a stalking order could be applied for during business hours.
At 6:06 a.m. a caller said a man in a golf cart was driving on the bike lane on HPR, headed toward town. An officer found the man at his home and advised him of the complaint.
At 7:27 p.m. a 911 caller said a young child, who was dirty and not wearing shoes, was reported alone in Lakeside. Store employees said he’d told them he’d come from the park and one employee was taking him to look for his aunt. An officer contacted the child, and the father came to the scene to take custody. He said the boy had been missing about 20 minutes and the neighborhood had been looking for him.
A caller said her neighbor’s chickens were getting into her yard and digging up the garden. They’d done it before and this time she’d caught one. Police advised her to return the chicken to its owner, and the ACO would be told of her complaints.
Two domestic violence orders were received and are to be served.
At 9:30 p.m. a caller complained of individuals on Price Street being loud. Officers found no one in the area.

Dayveon Mitchell, 29, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Texas on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 10:43 a.m., 3:54 p.m., 5:57 p.m. and 6:54 p.m. Monday.
