Police Blotter
Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
May 21
A grounds crew member reportedly damaged a parked vehicle with a push mower.
Police helped a woman collect a vehicle she was entitled to under a domestic violence order.
A Specialized bike was stolen from Kirkman Drive.
A resident said she was told someone had taken a photo of her license plate. She was advised this was not against the law but the incident was documented. It was later determined to be an innocent thing, involving members of the same organization.
Police cited a dog owner who was allowing the animal to run off-leash.
A store owner said a video showed someone who had been criminally trepassed from the store.
Police helped the probation officer transport a person to a residence for a home visit.
A stalking order was to be served.
Chicken coop fencing fell out of a vehicle, a caller said.
EMS was called for a man who was on the floor with a sore head.
At 5:17 p.m. a caller reported hearing snoring in the Lincoln Street harbor restrooms. He said when he returned, the snoring had stopped but there was a backpack in a stall. No one was there when police checked, and the backpack was gone.
At 7:20 p.m. a caller said his girlfriend was having medical issues, had been drinking and was being argumentative. An officer talked to her about going to the hospital for evaluation.
An ambulance was called for a resident who was disoriented and appeared to have fallen.
At 9:20 p.m. a caller said a small yellow dog with a limp was running outbound in the 1900 block of HPR.
An ambulance was called for a man who was dizzy and lightheaded and had swelling in his leg.
May 22
At 12:56 a.m. a taxi passenger was reported to have passed out in the cab. The passenger refused a ride and his mother agreed to take care of him.
In Court
Eric C. Morrow, 58, was sentenced to 10 days with 9 suspended, for theft in the fourth degree. He will be on probation for a year. Charges of criminal trespass and violating conditions of release were dismissed.
William D. Allery, 28, received sentences of 35 days, two days and three days on three counts of violating conditions of probation; and 10 days for harassment in the second degree. He may receive jail credit for time spent in treatment. Charges of criminal mischief and assault in the fourth degee were dismissed.
Russell M. Ruuti, 39, was sentenced to 30 days, with 29 suspended, on a charge of violating a domestic violence protective order. He will be on probation for a year. A charge of violating a protective order and violating conditions of release were dismissed.
