Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
May 20
At 12:29 a.m. a Burkhart Street resident reported downstairs neighbors were being noisy, keeping children awake. Officers responded and the neighbor was taken to a facility.
A suitcase found at the side of the road in the 1700 block of HPR was returned to the owner.
A Cedar Beach resident was cited for having an objectionable dog.
A backpack found at Eliason Harbor was returned to the owner.
A bottle of bleach and a gas can were found at Granite Creek Road and HPR. Officers were advised.
At 10:41 p.m. a resident on Andrew P. Hope Street reported hearing what sounded like three gunshots. Another resident thought it was fireworks.
At 11:26 p.m. four juveniles were seen on camera leaving the spot where a section of the Crescent Harbor dock was on fire. A case file has been set up.
May 21
A man said it appeared his home in the 800 block of HPR had been broken into during the night. A case file has been opened.
A caller reported getting harassing phone calls from a blocked number.
A man said he’d lost a hearing aid.
An electrical issue with a truck at Cove Marina that might result in a fire was reported. The owner was notified.
A fender bender was reported in the 700 block of HPR. Drivers were given self-report forms.
A caller asked for a welfare check on a friend who was depressed. The friend was found to be fine.
At 2:35 p.m. a caller expressed concern about dogs left in a car at Lincoln and Lake streets but the car left before officers arrived.
A dog that the owner had abandoned in an apartment was taken to the animal shelter, where a foster family took it.
A found bracelet was placed in the police property drawer.
A paddleboard apparently fell off a truck on Toivo Circle.
A wallet was returned to its owner.
At 10:35 p.m. a caller said neighbors in the 1200 block of Edgecumbe Drive were having a loud party. Police talked to the neighbors, who said they’d be quieter.
May 22
A caller in the 1100 block of Edgecumbe reported finding an injured eagle in the driveway. The Raptor Center responded.
An out-of-town caller asked for a welfare check on someone who might be suicidal. Officers found the person was being taken care of.
At 11:48 p.m. a driver from out of town was reported to have crashed into the mailbox in the 400 block of HPR. The driver was taken to the hospital, the vehicle was towed, and the mail was taken into custody, to be returned to the post office.

Erika Barragan, 35, was charged Friday with violating a protective order.
Emergency Calls
Sitka Fire Department received six ambulance calls Friday, four on Saturday and two on Sunday.
At 11:27 p.m. Friday an engine was sent to Crescent Harbor, where a flammable liquid had been lit on fire, on float 4. The dock surface was charred but property damage was limited, a Fire Department spokesman said. The fire crew cleared the scene at 12:09 a.m. Saturday.
