Police Blotter
Sitka police logged the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
May 23
A Samsung phone was turned in, programmed to foreign language. Cruise Line Agencies was advised, in case the phone belongs to a passenger.
An intoxicated man in a harbor restroom stall was taken to a hospital.
Police used Google Translate to talk to a man off a cruise ship accused of stealing from a local store. He was told not to return to the store.
Police advised a couple yelling at each other on Harbor Drive that others had complained about them.
A hit and run was reported in the 200 block of Lake Street.
At 6:53 p.m. a resident reported a woman hitting a dog on Price Street and dragging it into a trailer. The animal control officer was advised.
Police provided a man with a typed list of all the places he is trespassed from, after he was reported to be hiding in an employee restroom.
At 11:29 p.m. an officer reported a man had run from him. Police talked to people man had been talking to.
May 24
Police cited a woman for failing to have a valid license or insurance, and having an expired registration.
Officers were to deliver a denial of a domestic violence order.
At 1:26 a.m. a caller reported hearing crying and possibly arguing near the Baranof playground. Officers found people cuddling in a vehicle.
Two people sleeping in their car at Sealing Cove were advised they couldn’t park there, nor could they drive because they were not validly licensed and the vehicle registration had expired.
TSA confiscated a bag of marijuana at the airport.

Sitka Fire Department received ambulance calls at 10:42 a.m., 12:26 p.m. and 5:40 p.m. Thursday; and 5:54 a.m. today.
