Path of Hope Park

Dear Editor: On behalf of the Sitka Cancer Survivor Society, we wish to give a huge shoutout and a big thanks to Sarah Lawrie and her awesome Sitka AmeriCorps Volunteers.

On Friday, May 5, they all came geared up with rubber gloves, and ready to scrub the inspirational plaques that line the Path of Hope Park, weed, trim and prune bushes.

This work was all done under the leadership of Sarah Lawrie. Gail Roderick, a SCSS board member, and her husband Lou were there as a big help as well. We also appreciate the Sentinel for placing our spring cleaning picture that day on the front page!

The park looks beautiful and we all hope it can stay that way for a long time. We all need your help to keep the park clean for all to enjoy.  Please clean up any litter you may see. Please come and check out this beautiful inspirational park. If you don’t know where the park is located, it is next to Lower Moller Field. We are always happy to take any money donations earmarked for help with any miscellaneous expenses throughout the years.

Thanks, again.
