Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.
May 26
At 12:29 a.m. a man was reported to have fallen asleep in a taxi. Officers found he was able to care for himself, and he was taken home.
At 3:02 a.m. two men were reported fighting near the 200 block of Katlian. When officers arrived only one man was there. Nothing criminal had occurred, officers found.
A caller reported seeing a man take a bike from Totem Square and ride off with it. Officers talked to the man, who said he’d found the bike near the bridge. Police impounded it.
A man was found camping on a government-owned green strip near the airport. He was told to clean up his mess and leave.
A man reported he had lost his wallet the night before and asked to be called if it was found.
A caller asked for a welfare check on a woman who hadn’t been seen in awhile. Officers found she was fine.
Police called a man to tell him his bike and backpack had been found but he denied they were his.
A civil dispute arose when someone took a dog out of a parked vehicle because of the warm day, and the dog’s owner objected.
A man reported a case of fraud over Facebook. He was advised of his options.
At 7:43 p.m. an elderly woman was reported slumped over the steering wheel of her vehicle, at the post office. Officers found she had fallen asleep. She was deemed able to care for herself and drove away.
At 8:08 p.m. a man was reported talking to himself on Indian River Road. Officers found nothing criminal had occurred and he needed no help.
At 8:18 p.m. a caller in the 3700 block of HPR reported hearing what sounded like two explosions. Officers found nothing in the area that indicated explosions.
At 12:59 p.m. a woman said she’d left her wallet on a table at a downtown bar and when she returned to the table the wallet was missing. Officers talked to a suspect, and the wallet was returned.

Sitka Fire Department received six ambulance calls Thursday.
Sitka Police
Ty Walker Davis, 26, was charged Thursday with violating conditions of probation.
Coast Guard
A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka helicopter crew medevacked an 84-year-old cruise ship passenger with possible stroke symptoms Thursday evening, 40 miles west of Sitka.
The Coast Guard received the call around 6:45 p.m. from the cruise ship Viking Orion, which had left Sitka around 3:30 p.m. headed for Juneau when the emergency occurred.
The woman was hoisted off the ship and flown to Sitka for medical care, the Coast Guard said.
