Student Support

Dear Editor: I would like to personally thank the para-professionals whom I have had the pleasure of working with this school year.

Not many people know the real work that goes into the work of a stellar para, the struggles, successes and rewards of working one-on-one with a student who experiences a disability. Although I know this job to be one of the most rewarding, like any with rewards, there are also struggles and very trying days. These four (and MANY others) work tirelessly to be sure that student success comes first and that each student is treated and taught with respect and kindness. I know few people who can truly fill these shoes with the level of service that I have seen this year in my classroom.

My heartfelt thanks and gratitude goes out to all who work in a caring way with our students and especially this year to: Jodi Schwantes, Jacob Hodges, Simon Connelly and Darryl Rehkopf. They have all brought their unique talents and kindnesses to my classroom with the goal of helping students and for that I am so grateful and humbled. Thanks for ALL you do for kids, you each make the world a better place.
