Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

May 2

A man and a woman reported sleeping on a bench at Crescent Harbor at 12:09 a.m. were found to be able to care for themselves and they left the area.

At 9:14 a.m. a small white dog dragging its leash was reported on the Nelson Logging Road. The animal control officer caught it and took it to the shelter.

A downtown business turned over tapes showing someone shoplifting. Police are investigating.

At 10:40 a.m. ravens were reported getting into garbage bags on Cedar Beach Road. The owner of the bags was to clean up the litter.

A storage company and a renter were reported in a disagreement about maintenance of the unit.

At 11 a.m. a caller asked for a welfare check on a neighbor who hadn’t been seen in awhile. Officers found the neighbor was fine.

A man reported losing his Gortex jacket.

While serving papers, officers found an intoxicated man needing medical care. He was taken to the hospital.

A man reported being assaulted the previous night. Police opened an investigation.

A possibly intoxicated driver was reported in the 4200 block of HPR. Officers found no vehicle matching the description.

At 5:54 p.m. a woman said a man had taken her phone and wouldn’t give it back. Police opened a case file.

At 6:23 p.m. the city emergency rescue vehicle went to Goddard Hot Springs to pick up a group of kayakers  alarmed by the weather.

A report of sexual abuse of a minor is under investigation.

At 10:45 p.m. a downtown business reported shoplifting.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls and two fire false  alarms Monday.

 

Sitka Police

Sean A. Barclay, 37, was charged Saturday with assault in the fourth degree and violating conditions of release.

 

In Court

A charge against Kara Marie Noemi Sadowski, 32, of criminal mischief in the fourth degree was dismissed without prejudice by the prosecuting attorney.
