The following calls were logged as of 8 a.m. today.

May 26

At 6:14 a.m. a man was reported refusing to leave a business on Smith Street. No one wanted to press charges, but the man was trespassed.

At 10:49 a.m. a fender bender was reported on Japonski Island. Drivers were given self-report forms.

Tools were reported stolen at the Gary Paxton Industrial Park. A case was opened.

A case was opened on a report of possibly stolen property in the Indian River subdivision.

May 27

At 12:07 a.m. a man was reported trying to get into an apartment on Orion Street. Police found no signs of criminal activity.

A fight was reported at a downtown bar at 1:30 a.m. One man refused to get medical care, and no one wanted to press charges.

At 5:43 a.m. an intoxicated man was reported at Crescent Harbor, and at 6:47 p.m. another intoxicated man was found sleeping in the 200 block of Katlian Street. Both men left the areas.

May 28

A trespassing report came in from totem park at 8:50 a.m.

At 7:38 p.m. a call came in about a missing boat with five occupants. See story on page 1.

A woman was reported flashing near a downtown bar at 9:58 p.m. She was gone when police arrived.

A caller said she’d heard her stolen bike had been seen, spray-painted, in the 700 block of HPR.

May 29

A report of harassment in the 2000 block of SMC came in at 11:40 a.m.

At 4:21 p.m. multiple calls came in about a driver swerving recklessly in the 600 block of SMC.

A disturbance was reported at the airport at 11:24 p.m.

 

Sitka Police

Charles O. Miyasato, 43, was charged Friday with violating a protective order.

Eric Hidalgo, 34, was charged Saturday morning with assault in the fourth degree.

Robert C. Sommerville, 37, was charged Saturday with assault in the fourth degree, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threatening.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received five ambulance calls Friday and one fire call, which turned out to be someone having a backyard barbeque and not a fire.

On Saturday, four ambulance calls came in; on Sunday five; on Monday 5 more; and two by 8 a.m. today.
