Whitcomb Heights, Again
Dear Editor: WHAT? Yet another “MINOR Subdivision” in the Whitcomb Heights Subdivision? It’s called “Parcel C,” off Kramer Avenue. Four lots, one of them huge: 247,956 square feet.
Are those lots flagged so all the neighbors on Sand Dollar Circle know exactly where those boundaries are located? Probably not. Only property owners within 150 feet need be informed under the present city code. And that code has not yet been revisited.
Go take a look. The butchering of this magnificent wooded land has already started. Where is the Park? The Greenbelt? Is the rest of North Sitka informed? Where is the report of the “Work Session” held by the Assembly in April? Were property holders of all the adjacent properties invited to that discussion? Probably not.
Go to the Planning Commission meeting TONIGHT, May 6, at 7 o’clock to learn about yet another major development in our beautiful City of Sitka. And don’t let the Planning director and commissioners scare you.
What happens on Whitcomb Heights matters to all Sitka. And maybe Sound Development LLD has some really good plans.
