The following calls were recorded as of 8 a.m. today.

May 5

At 8:05 a.m. a man was reported sleeping outside in the 100 block of Lincoln Street. Police found he was able to care for himself.

A caller requested a welfare check on a woman, but she said she was fine and didn’t want a welfare check.

An intoxicated man was reported at Sealing Cove. Police found he was able to care for himself.

A domestic problem was reported in the 100 block of Harbor Drive but none of those involved wanted to press charges.

May 6

At 2:47 a.m. an intoxicated woman was reported in the 4200 block of HPR. She was given a ride home.

At 4:37 a.m. a caller said a driver had hit a deer in the 5200 block of HPR. The deer carcass was taken to the Raptor Center. The auto wasn’t damaged.

At 9:03 p.m. several juveniles were reported wanting to fight on Cascade Creek Road. No juveniles were there when police arrived.

At 10:13 p.m. fireworks were reported going off on Japonski Island.

May 7

At 1:19 a.m. an intoxicated man was reported in the area of SMC and Raptor Way. He was given a ride home.

A mother asked for a welfare check on children who were with their father, who was drinking. The children were taken to their mother.

At 6:08 a.m. an intoxicated man sleeping in the 200 of Lincoln Street was awakened. He was found to be able to care for himself.

At 8:07 a.m. a disturbance was reported on Osprey Street. No one answered the door or phone.

At 11:39 p.m. juveniles were reported drinking in the 3800 block of HPR. Three of them were taken to their parents.

May 8

At 1:30 a.m. multiple calls came in about yelling and screaming on Burkhart Drive. Police investigated but no one wanted to press charges.

 

Emergency Calls

On Friday Sitka Fire Department received seven ambulance calls; on Saturday three calls came in; and on Sunday, two  ambulance calls were received.

At 8:33 a.m. Sunday a boat fire was reported at Silver Bay. The story is on page 1.

 

Sitka Police

Jason Svilar, 29, was charged Saturday with violating conditions of release and driving with a revoked license.

 

Wildlife Troopers

Jameszon Doggett, 38, was fined $170 on May 6 for retention of a lingcod while sportfishing when the period was closed.

Kenzie Adams, 23, a nonresident sport fisherman, was fined $120 on a charge of failing to record a king salmon landing as required, on May 6.
