Michael Lee Webb

Services for Michael Lee Webb, a lifelong Sitka resident, have been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday March 19, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church.

 

A reception will follow from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at The Pub in the Bayview Building.

Mike died suddenly February 26 while he and his wife were on vacation in the Dominican Republic. He was 52. 

He was born April 12, 1963, at Sitka Community Hospital to Everett Webb and Janice (Mosher) Webb.

Mike graduated from Sitka High School in 1981.

He worked various jobs in construction beginning with McGraw Construction (now Southeast Road Builders) and Keystone Construction as a heavy equipment operator.  He then worked for the State of Alaska Department of Transportation  for 15 years.  Soon after, he began a job with the City and Borough of Sitka Public Works Department.

Mike returned to construction after five years with the City. He worked for S&S General Contractors, CBC Construction, and Coastal Excavation.

He met Jocelyn (Cain) Webb in Sitka in 1986. They were wed April 11, 1992, and were married for 24 years. Together, they have two children, Justine, age 21,  and Hayden, age 19. 

Mike enjoyed hunting, some fishing, boating and camping with family and friends. He loved collecting guns and shooting, and was an avid reloader.

He was active in Little League, high school sports and City League softball for many years, and had a lifelong love for his dogs. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Leon Webb of Sitka, and grandfather Floyd Mosher of Ketchikan. 

He is survived by his mother, Janice A. (Mosher) Webb;  grandmother Cora E. Mosher; uncle Ron Mosher, his wife Elizabeth “Bitsy” Mosher, all of Sitka, and their children Jolene, Amelia and Nicholas Mosher; his two brothers and their families, Curtis Webb, wife Lynn, and their children Nicole and Austin, of Folsom, Calif., and Trevor Webb, wife Barbara and their children Madison, Shane and Zachary, of Sitka; uncle Tom and wife Vicky (Wilken)Webb of Reno, Nev.; and many other aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins. 

 

He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
