Lifelong Sitkan Nicholas Michael Williams passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage. He was 78.

Williams, Victor Williams, Walter Williams, Mary Ann Williams, Jacob Williams, Neil Andrew Williams, Eugenia Ann Williams, Anthony Baird Williams, Raymond S. Williams and Nadja Marie Williams.
He worked in construction, in the asbestos industry, and at the Alaska Pulp Co. mill until it closed in 1993.
When he was younger, he also worked at the Russian Orthodox Church with his dad, Father Innocent Williams.
Nicholas loved to fish and hunt. He also liked boxing, and could have become a pro down south, but he loved his kids too much to do that.
He also enjoyed telling stories, and eating out at special places in town.
Nicholas is survived by his children, daughter Elizabeth M. Williams and son Joey J. Williams.
His nephew and niece are Randy Williams and his wife Lana Williams; and Mary Ann Johnson and her five children Rebekah, Casey, Stacey, Jamie and Gaven.
He also had a closeknit group of friends here in town, and he loved his Kitten very much; they had such a tight bond.
His memorial, for close friends and family, will be Friday, Jan. 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Michael’s Cathedral; and the funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, also at the church.
After graveside services a reception will follow, at Father Michael’s house.
Pallbearers will include Dick Goff, John Walsh, Andy Roberts, Ernie Karras, Randy Williams, Keith Perkins and Doug Bartels.
Honorary pallbearers will include Gene Burton, Kalen Robbins, William Kanosh, Jay Bingham, Jeff Wright, Rich Kraft and Mike Tackabery.
The family expressed thanks to SEARHC Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital and Alaska Native Medical Center staff, escorts and caregivers.
