Police Blotter
    Police received the following calls by 8 a.m. today:
Oct. 31
    A turquoise kayak was found floating in the water near Sandy Beach.
    A bank employee turned in a cell phone left at the business two months ago.
    Keys on a Yoda fob were found outside a thrift store.
    A resident lost a large amount of money in a bank envelope on Sunday while at ANB Founders Hall.
    At 6:20 p.m. a resident said her friend’s 8-year-old daughter was missing after trick or treating. The child was in a Descendants 3 costume. The girl turned out to be trick or treating with a friend and the friend’s dad.
    A resident at 7:42 p.m. reported a possibly intoxicated driver going through the Burkhart Street complexes. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
    At 7:45 p.m. a caller asked for a welfare check on a friend she hadn’t heard from in two months, and had in the past made comments about wanting to harm himself. Police talked to the man ,who said he was fine.
    A light was seen blinking at the concession stand near the Blatchley ballfield at 8:35 p.m. The light stopped blinking and there were no signs of a break-in when police arrived.
    At 8:50 p.m. police and troopers were advised about a bear hanging out by the garbage container on Andrew P. Hope Street. It was the second time in two hours a bear was seen there.
    A black leather wallet was found in a hotel. Police left a message with the owner.
Nov. 1
    At 2:41 a.m. loud noises were reported heard in a Lincoln Street apartment building, waking up at least one tenant twice during the night. Police found it was quiet when they arrived.
   
In Court
    Randy A. Sipe, 57, was sentenced to 30 days on a charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree. A charge of criminal trespass was dismissed.
    Cedar M. Mayo, 29, was sentenced to 20 days for violating release conditions and 20 days for criminal trespass in the second degree. Dismissed were the following charges: criminal trespass in the second degree   (two counts), tampering with evidence, driving in violation of a driver’s license and disorderly conduct.

    Sitka Fire Department received one ambulance call Thursday, at 2:25 p.m.
