Elder Care Gratitude
Dear Editor: During the month of November, in which we are reminded of the many things we are grateful for, we want to offer our heartfelt thanks for all the staff and caregivers who have extended love, compassionate care and kindness to our elders residing in the Pioneers Home, the Sitka Long-Term Care Home, and all other caregivers, and Brave Heart Volunteers who have been caring for our beloved friends and family members in their homes.
We are thankful also to Southeast Alaska Independent Living, Sitka Tribe of Alaska and the Salvation Army for their support of the seniors in our community, and for the Swan Lake Senior Center for continuing to provide meals to those who have been homebound.
To all of you, known and unknown, caring for the elders in our community: You have truly been a blessing in this season of life together. Thank you!
