Sitka Police Department logged the following calls as of 8 a.m. today.

November 18

At 1:38 a.m. a dog was reported lost on Dodge Circle. At 8:30 a.m. the owner reported the dog had returned home.

At 2:53 a.m. a caller in the 3200 block of HPR reported an unknown man was knocking on her door. Officers were unable to find the man.

Police are investigating a report of a protection order violation.

At 12:18 p.m. a red pickup was reported in a no-parking area in the 300 block of Lincoln Street. It was gone when officers checked.

At 12:53 p.m. officers stood by while the Coast Guard checked a possible fuel leak at the former laundry building on the SJ Campus.

At 3:36 p.m. a caller reported a driver in a white car was speeding through the roundabout.

A man reported he had loaned out his fishing boat while he was out of town and had returned to find the boat missing. Police found it had been taken to Petersburg. The boat owner was advised of his options.

A report of sexual abuse of a minor is under investigation.

At 8:36 p.m. a caller in the 3200 block of HPR reported the unknown man was again ringing her doorbell. Officers viewed video from the doorbell, and recognized the man.

November 19

At 8:07 a.m. a caller reported bus drivers were having issues with snowy road conditions at SMC and Indian River Road. DOT was notified.

 

Sitka Police

Carlos Macias, 31, was charged Thursday with violating conditions of probation.

 

Emergency Calls

Sitka Fire Department received three ambulance calls Thursday.
