Lap Quilt Donation
Dear Editor: Center for Community wants to thank and acknowledge the generosity and talents of Sitka’s Ocean Wave Quilters. The Ocean Wave Quilters donated three beautiful lap quilts for us to distribute to clients in need of some color in their lives and the comfort and beauty of a handmade quilt. We gave two of the quilts to clients with severe disabilities, who both live alone here in Sitka, on very limited incomes. The third quilt is winging its way to a Sitka senior citizen whose medical care will keep her away from home and friends, in an Anchorage hospital, for the next several months.
Thanks, again, for these quilts made with love – gifts that are truly priceless.

BECCC Raffle
Dear Editor: Betty Eliason Child Care Center would like to thank the following sponsors of our recent fundraising raffle: anonymous family who donated the two American flags with certificates; AC/Lakeside Grocery; Stereo North; Kruz-In Oil and Lube; Sitka by the Sea Professional Services; and Mama Bears Circus.
