Litter Pick Up
Dear Editor: Sitka Rotary Club members picked up litter from Sawmill Creek Road on the frosty Sunday morning of Nov. 24. Participating were Debbie Daniels, exchange student Lor Gi, Shannon Haugland, Kari Lundgren, Denton Pearson and organizer John Stein. The day’s unofficial mascot, Takatz, assisted.
Rotarians thank Alaska Department of Transportation Sitka Station for providing litter bags, warning signs and safety vests. Encouraging waves from passing motorists were really appreciated. Teams picked up 12 bags of litter between the roundabout and Jarvis Street.

Salvation Army Benefit
Dear Editor: Thank you to everyone who helped make the annual Garage Sale for Salvation Army such a success. The donations were beautiful, the shoppers were generous, the helpers plentiful. Thank you to the Sentinel and Problem corner for helping to get the word out.
‘‘Whatever you do to the least of these you do to me.’’ Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
