Boys Basketball Benefit
Dear Editor: Sitka High School boys basketball program had a fundraiser this past weekend at the local Elks Lodge that was a fried fish and chips dinner with dessert and specialty items for auction.
I would like to take this time to thank a few people and businesses that went above and beyond to make this event happen.
First of all, a huge thank you to the Sitka Elks Lodge for hosting the event. Thank you, Austin and Monte, the cook crew, and Lolly, Fran and Val as the wonderful wait staff.
Thank you to Bill Grant, Casey Demmert and Rich Krupa for providing the locally caught fish. Thank you to Willy Schrantz and Kevin Boddy at Northern Sales for donating food items. Thank you to Nugget Restaurant for donating some of their delicious pies, all the parents and supporters who baked and /or donated items and a big thank you to Harris Air for donating two round-trip plane tickets for our auction. And, of course, our amazing auctioneer Syd Eubanks. Thank you for your willingness and great attitude.
A basketball program like this would not be great without the community support behind it. Thank you for coming out and showing your support. We are excited to see you at the games this year. Go, Wolves!
