Bath House
Dear Editor: I was heartened by the article Monday, ‘‘New Bath House Opens at White Sulphur Springs.’’ Thanks to all who were involved.
I have one addition to the coverage. This was a real grassroots effort by many folks in our state, as well as some others who wrote comments out of the state. Without the efforts of many, we would have two ‘‘outside’’ pools to soak in.
Good job, Barth, on the beautiful design.
Can’t wait to get up there and enjoy it.
John Murray, Sitka

Thanks to Businesses
Dear Editor: I just want to use this space (thank you, Sitka Sentinel) to say a BIG thank you to the local retailers and maybe other downtown businesses who were so generous with candy for our little (and some not so little) trick-or-treaters.
I hear complaints all year long about local prices but show me where Amazon took their profits and bought candy for our kids. That amount of candy doesn’t fall off trees, it comes out of their pockets and we do appreciate it, even those of us who have no kids at home are suddenly not having to answer the door or buy candy to hand out. Others, too, who should be thanked are the Coast Guard families who have been more than generous to keep the kids in a safe place to get their treats.
Also, the churches who put on parties and passed out very generous treats helping the kids and the parents feel comfortable about where their kids are on such an ‘‘active’’ night. Thanks, again, all, for making Sitka a great place to live.
Marjorie Parmelee, Sitka
